AI in Human Subjects Research: Rutgers Consent Guide

The Rutgers Office for Research released AI in Human Subjects Research: Rutgers Consent Guide, a practical resource designed to help researchers incorporate AI into studies while supporting ethical transparency and consistent IRB review.

The guide was developed by the Rutgers Office for Research’s Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) teams to support and advise researchers who would like to incorporate AI into human research studies.

Contributors include Dr. Megan Ringel, Michelle Watkinson, CIP, and Dr. Nathan C. Walker, principal investigator of the AI Ethics Lab in the Department of Philosophy & Religion at Rutgers-Camden.

The guide is available to all researchers via the Office for Research’s website.
