Ethics Minor (383) 18 Credits

  • Six courses from among the following or with EAV designation within Philosophy or Religion (18 Credits): Contemporary Moral Issues (730:105), Ethics (730:226), Philosophy of Sex, Gender, and Sexuality (730:247), Biomedical Ethics (730:249), Environmental Ethics (730: 250), Ethics and Business (730:251), Ethics of Food (730:252), Philosophy of Law (730:258), Ethics of War and Conflict (730:330), Evil (730:333), Political Philosophy (730:342), Social Philosophy (730:343), Religion and Democracy (730:350), Introduction to Religion and Contemporary Culture (840:108), Race, Politics, and Religion (840:266), Justice, Forgiveness, and Reparations (840:267), Biomedical Ethics (840:280), Religion and Democracy (840:322), Religion, Anti-Semitism and the Holocaust (840:332), Evil (840:333), Comparative Religious Ethics (840:335)

Philosophy and Religion Minor (733) 18 Credits

  • At least one of the following (3 Credits): Introduction to Logic (730:201), History of Philosophy I (730:211), History of Philosophy II (730:212), Ethics (730:226)
  • At least one of the following (3 Credits): Introduction to Religious Studies (840:101), Introduction to World Religions (840:103), Asian Religions (840:111), Jews, Christians, and Muslims (840:112)
  • Two additional courses in Philosophy (6 Credits)
  • Two additional courses in Religion (6 Credits)

Dual Credit

Students who are completing both a Philosophy major and a Religion major, or a major plus a minor, or two minors in the department, may count up to three courses toward the requirements of both programs.

Students who are completing a major or minor another department in Arts and Sciences (e.g. Political Science) may count up to three of those courses toward a major or minor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion, with permission of the Department Chair.
