The Department of Philosophy and Religion is delighted to announce that Dr. Eric Chwang will fill the inaugural Henry Rutgers Term Chair in Health, Ethics, and Society, to begin on September 1, 2016.
Dr. Chwang is an expert in the philosophy and ethics of medical consent and research. He is currently assistant professor of philosophy at the University of Colorado at Boulder and has also worked for the Department of Bioethics at the National Institutes of Health. He received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Princeton University and a M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine.
The Henry Rutgers Term Chair in Health, Ethics, and Society is a position that will build bridges across the diverse health programs on campus and in the region by fostering a diversity of public and scholarly conversations in biomedical ethics. It is the only Henry Rutgers Chair from among several around Rutgers University.
We are extremely excited to welcome Dr. Chwang to our program and campus!
